First Midwife app

Hi, I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant with my 1st. I have my first appointment with the Midwife on Saturday morning.

What happens at this appointment? What should I expect?

Very excited about baby, but feeling a little lost at the moment

Hi tulips,
At my appointment they went through mine and DPs medical history and also our close families. They asked us about smoking alcohol and drugs.

They took my blood pressure, tested a urine sample and took bloods.

They also asked where i wanted to give birth but assured me that anything i said wasn't set in stone and they also asked how i planned to give birth .

I had blood pressure, urine sample and blood tests taken. They might also take your height and weight.

After that it's basically lots of form-filling, they'll ask about your and your partners health and medical history, family medical history, any previous pregnancies, what your living/working/relationship situation is, things like that.

I also booked my scan date at my booking appt but I don't think it works like that in every area.

Same as the ladies have said above, a big question and answer session with midwife filling in paperwork. Very long winded. Think they also took my urine sample, blood and noted weight as well. Midwife then said that my info would be sent to hospital who would send a letter in a week or do re. when my 12 wk scan would be. If you don't know it already, might be worth asking your family and father's family their medical history, they probe quite deeply!
