Just saw this on the BBC website, and thought if we had this in the UK, how much nicer would early pregnancy feel? It seems to be a hit/miss treat these days whether each mum gets a pot to pee into at each MW appt.

Wow! How cool would that be? I know its am impossible dream but would be lovely to receive one of those. All we get Is a bounty pack with a tiny tub of sudocrem and junk mail for the next twenty years.

SeriousStuff · 04/06/2013 16:39

Wow! I'd love one of those!

ExhaustedMamasita · 04/06/2013 16:42

My friend?s living in Finland and posted on FB a photo of all her newborn baby goodies ? I was gob smacked!!! She got soooo much stuff ? clothing and all the bare essentials for any baby. What?s most amazing is that the initiative seems to have decreased baby mortality rate to become the lowest in the world? such a forward thinking society!

This is fantastic. What an amazing idea.

NorthernLurker · 04/06/2013 17:08

I've just read about this. It's amazing.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 04/06/2013 17:12

Fantastic. I wish we could do that here. Thanks for the link OP.

Timeforabiscuit · 04/06/2013 17:14

What a wonderful thing! I definitely would have used that box!

PistachioTruffle · 04/06/2013 17:40

What a lovely idea!

soupmaker · 04/06/2013 18:09

It's not an impossible dream. It's just that priorities in the UK are different to Finland. Our government prefers to allow multi-nationals to pay to bombard us with advertising ridden Bounty bags instead. Hmm I'm off to book my flight, due at the end of July!

Bue · 04/06/2013 18:39

I love that the box doubles as a crib. And the clothes are cute, colourful and gender neutral.

Cherrybright · 04/06/2013 20:34

That is fab :) I would love that

Cloverer · 04/06/2013 20:37

A friend of mine is Finnish and slept in her cardboard crib 30 years ago as a newborn Grin

suedehead · 04/06/2013 20:43

I really really love it. Mostly because it's a great social leveller - stops the whole 'ooh, PFB has a Silver Cross crib. I couldn't possibly put him in the cheap one from Mothercare'. I'd bloody love to have put my DC in a box - they look perfect!

Also a vast improvement on the hideousness that is Bounty packs - you're right Soup. If our govt spent less time selling our details to corporations and more time thinking about supporting families, I think we'd all be a lot happier.

windywoo26 · 04/06/2013 20:45

I love the clothes, why oh why is it so difficult in this country to get lovely, colourful neutral clothing?
