I am 35+6 and been getting strong braxton hicks every 5 to 10 mins. Not painful as such but uncomfortable. Baby moving in between so not too worried and i have a mw appointment this afternoon anyway but i just wondered if anyone else had had them this frequently and if you think its anything to worry about?

Hi, I did between 35-37 weeks, on and off for up to a couple of hours at a time. Then it stopped and I just get them every now and again now. Its good that you have your MW appointment later as she will check you out and help to reassure you etc. Good luck X

I know how you must be feeling. They were so strong and frequent, I thought it was the real thing until I started researching on the net and asked others etc. You do feel scared at the time! I'm 39 + now and am very ready waiting for a contraction/or any signs for the start of labour! Fed up of waiting now. Good luck at your appointment! Oh, ps... For some reason when I took off my bra (it wasn't because it was too tight and was a proper fitted one) the BH for some reason wasn't as painful/uncomfortable as when I had it on?! It might be all in my mind but it's worth a try as it really helped me! :) x

I get them very regularly sometimes, but they will usually go back to being irregular if I change what I'm doing. So if sitting down, get up and walk around a bit. If walking, sit down for a bit.

Thanks everyone, i feel a bit reassured now. Crib mattress just got delivered too so she would have somewhere to sleep at least, ha ha! I bet you have had enough at 39+, this little lady is more than welcome to make an appearance as soon as i hit 38 weeks. Still getting them now, they are so uncomfortable and make me feel kind of weird, not painful though. I guess if i go into labour i will know about it :)

I had it a couple times with my DD. At around 38 weeks my braxtons became a bit painfull too, so every time I was convinced it was 'the real thing'
I asked my Midwives about it when they became painfull and they just assured me my body was doing practice runs.

From the first proper contraction though, I knew I was in labour. It was completley unmistakable. Congratulations, fingers crossed you have a lovely labour experience.
