Downs Syndrome Risk

Hi there. Just recieved downs syndrome test results following 12 week scan (2nd pregnancy) that say high risk and 1/100 chance of Downs. The fluid at the back of the neck results where fine but the risk has come from hormone levels in blood.

Had a miscarriage prior to first pregnancy so do not want amnio test done as do not want the risk of losing the baby but desperately trying to find a way to have more tests done that are not invasive. I have been told about some further blood tests that can be done privately - does anyone know anything about this as I cannot find anything online and midwife not being very helpful.

Termination not an option but would like to have a more conclusive result so we can prepare if necessary, or stop worrying if not necessary.

Any advice greatfully recieved!

There is a non invasive test called the Harmony Test. It is quite expensive. It gives good information for Downs Syndrome and Edwards, but is less accurate for Patau's.

1 in 100 is also a very low risk - I know it is hard to remember this but they are good odds.
