hi all, im new to this. But today i was on my driving lesson and as i went to pull out a car was going realy fast and came into the side of me as i didnt see him in my blind spot. I thankfully wasnt hurt but i was realy shook up and upset about the whole think it realy shocked me what had happened. My partner thought we should go to the hospital to see if we coulld get the baby checked. We went to A n E to begin with and said i had been in a minor crash and was concerned for the baby. This is my second baby and people seem to treat you like crap when its your second. i was told the baby would not be harmed as it is very well protected in the first trimestor and if theres no bleeding i would be fine. So i thought i would go to the pregnancy assesment unit i was very rudely spoke to, i told the midwife i had been in a crash and she wasnt even interested just asked how far i was and wen i said 9 weeks she said there is nothing we can do we cant listen to babys heartbeat this early but surely they could of done a scan? i felt realy stupid and as we walked out she said and next time bring your blue notes and make sure you carry them at all times (in a realy snotty tone). I dont know if i am just been silly and over protective but i would of thought any person whos is in a small or large crash should be checked over especialy being pregnant. would realy appriciate peoples opinions on this as friends have said i shouldnt have been spoken to like that and to contact them again demanding i want a scan. But im not sure, ive also had realy bad back ache since it happend. HELP PLEASE :)))

I've been in a car crash at 12 weeks, went to the doc and he said that the baby would be well protected in the amniotic fluid.

All fine at my 12 week scan. They really are well cushioned in there.

I'd just take it easy and if you have any bleeding go to the epu

Oh, and it was a bus that ran into the back of me, so quite a jolt.

If there's no bleeding, and you are basically fine, the doctors are right not to be concerned.

Take care of yourself, being in a car accident really sucks.

I was hit and knocked over by a car at 12 weeks. Bruised and grazed but baby absolutely fine and doctor not worried at all.

I went into the back of a van at 17 weeks (now 20 weeks) and crumpled the front of my car. I called the EPU and they said as I wasnt 20 weeks they wouldnt see me but if I had any bleeding etc to go to A&E. Everything was fine, but it seems unless you are over 20 weeks etc they arent really that interested!
