I'm 28+4 and for the past couple of days having aching pain in my ribs down my left side. not in front where the bump is.

Any idea what could be causing it?

Gearing myself up for a trip to the maternal unit if it doesn't go away!

:(

I pretty much have a constant pain in my ribs (30+2 now), I'm told it's just things stretching and moving.

If you're worried though, call and chat to your midwife

I have a pain on my sides too, changing from side to side. I had also assumed it was just stretching. Glad to read I am not the only one.

Thanks guys. I've just discovered i've got anemia too so wondered if it may be linked....

If you're at all worried, give your midwife a call. I'm sure they'll be happy to talk to you and see what's going on. We can only tell you our own experiences.

I've got a constant ache/pain down both sides of my ribs, it's because baby is pulling all my bump forward an down (33.3, very big baby) I find the only thing that seems to help is a hot water soak before bed, although in this weather I got a cold bath yesterday and that eased it too, just try and make yourself as comfortable as you can x

Rucks advice is sound - check with MW. I'm 31+6 and have something similar. I've been told it's 'just' the ribs moving to make space for the bub. But better safe so check with your MW Flowers

I can't determine if it is more my imagination than anything else like now I am reading this I think of it and can feel it but if I get on with something else (like working which I should be doing) I forget about it. I am seeing midwife tomorrow so will ask her then.

Everything hurts more when you think about it, hope your okay :) x

Thanks all! Will phone the MW and check it out.

Midwife was remarkably non-plussed. Am typical paranoid first-time mum.

Have been told to take some paracetamol and call them back if it gets worse or the baby stops moving. It's most likely growing pains....

Its good you called though. My MW told me she'd rather get calls where there is no issue, than me not call with the 1 that meant there was a big issue...
