I'm 33+1 & starting to get together things to pack in my hospital bag. In your opinion what were the best brand of maternity towels you found?
I'm sorry if this thread has been over done, but I wanted a recent opinion. Smile

Asda little angels. Their boob pads are good too. I only have tesco ones to compare to but the Asda ones are far superior.

Boots big thick ones are good on stitches .

argh. Blooming phone

The sainsburys ones were great, better than all the others I tried (mothercare, asda, tesco). The midwife kept asking if the pads were 'breathable' (not backed in plastic) and these were the only ones I found that were the type they recommended.

MrsMagpieCovetsShinyThings · 02/06/2013 12:05

I've tried telco and asda's little angels, both maternity pads and breast pads. Asda's is by far the best. Telcos are just plasticky and horrible.

TinkyPeet · 02/06/2013 12:08

I just go for any pack of house-brick style sanitary towel, usually whatever's on offer xx

TinkyPeet · 02/06/2013 12:09

This week I got morrisons night time maxi pads, think they were 2 for £1.50

Longfufu · 02/06/2013 18:00

I found maternity pads awful. Massive Tena pads are brilliant.

HenriettaPye · 02/06/2013 18:01

I just used the night time sanitary towels with wings, I found them much better than the maternity ones

themilkmonster · 02/06/2013 21:44

Another vote for boots ones, very thick and comfy.

craftycottontail · 02/06/2013 22:01

In the past week I've used Boots maternity and Sainsburys maxi night time with stitches. Both much the same

karinmaria · 02/06/2013 22:03

I tried mothercare initially with stitches but they weren't thick enough for me and also not breathe able as they're backed in plastic.

Sainsburys and Boots own brands won hands down.

Fakebook · 03/06/2013 10:39

I think it might have been mentioned but the Boots ones Wink

AmandaPayneNeedsANap · 03/06/2013 13:40

Are you making fun of me Fakebook Grin.

Fakebook · 03/06/2013 14:14

A little bit Grin. But I completely agree with you and that's what's important :).

AmandaPayneNeedsANap · 03/06/2013 14:19

Indeed. I sent out DH for more supplies at one point with DD1 and the local shop only had the thin ones. Ouch ouch ouch. Learned my lesson for DD2!

Fakebook · 03/06/2013 20:02

At least yours brought back actual pads. When dc2 was born DH came back with tena lady adult nappies, and told me that's what the Boots shop assistant gave him Hmm. I sent him back and then had a conversation with the shop assistant on the phone telling her I needed maternity pads not adult nappies and if she could show DH where they were. This time I'm just going to buy about 6 packs beforehand.

AmandaPayneNeedsANap · 03/06/2013 20:39

Grin. Though some midwives recommend Tena pants apparently. Not keen on the idea myself.

Sluggers · 29/06/2013 07:32

My friend recommended boots thinner ones with wings and not to get the thick ones. Now I'm confused.

plummyjam · 29/06/2013 08:43

First few days just used Boots own maternity pads, then Always night time with wings (cos that was all they had in the local shop), they seemed to be fine.

Gonnabmummy · 29/06/2013 10:33

I got boots maternity towels yesterday they're on 3 for 2!

Shellywelly1973 · 29/06/2013 13:18

I always hated massive fat pads! When i had my first 3 thats all you could buy.

With dc4&5 i used thin pads asap. I hate all sorts of pads. I hope this time i only bleed for a couple weeks instead of 6 weeks like after the last 3dc.
