Problems found during scan

I had my 20 week scan last Tuesday and got the devastating news that my baby girl has a lot of problems. The problems are that she has dangerously low heartbeat at only 50bps, a little hole In her heart, only a single artery in the umbilical cord (SUA) instead of the normal two, inflamed kidneys and lastly a cleft lip. I agreed to have an amniocentesis test which shows all chromosomes are normal. After a scan this week the heartbeat went up to 58bps and the problem with the kidneys have completely disappeared. This is my first pregnancy, I was advised that it was likely that my baby would die within a few days but two weeks later and she's still fighting away and i can feel her moving about more and more everyday. As I can't find any information about anyone who has experienced anything similar I was wondering if anyone here has went through or know of anyone that has had similar problems? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks xx

I am so sorry that this is happening to you - I have no experience of what you are going through but couldnt read and run. I hope someone more helpful comes along soon, my thoughts are with you

No experience but didn't want you to feel alone. She sounds a determined little fighter. Sure someone more helpful will be along soon.

I am sorry that you are going through this. I don't have any advice but I wanted to say I hope you are ok :(

I'm so sorry that I don't have any advice either, but it sounds like you are seeing positive things starting to happen, in what must have been a terrible time for you.

When do you have your next check up and scan? I hope your little one continues to get stronger and stronger xx

Have no advice or experience, but holding your hand. Prayers for you and your baby, she sounds like a mini fighter. I believe in miracles, hope a miracle happens to you xx

My heart is going out to you OP. I know exactly what you're going through. Sad

My DD2 showed abnormalities at my 20 week scan too, although they weren't quite as severe or worrying as yours. The original issue actually resolveded itself over a few weeks but the consequent scans showed further, more worrying problems. At one point I was told that she might die in the womb.

She was born prematurely at just over 3lb and spent a few weeks in SCBU.

Today she is 15 months old, crawling everywhere, into everything, laughing and squealing at anything and keeping me up all night with teething pain.

She is my little miracle.

I hope with all my heart that your DD comes through - she sounds like a little fighter. Thanks
