I'm 6 days overdue, have been having mild cramps every 15 mins for about 5 hours.
2nd baby.
Had a warm bath and termed to get some sleep but woke up about an hour ago to some quite intense pain and its about every 11 mins now.
When should I go in? Hosp is 20 mins away, would have toget my mum up to look after Dd.

Why don't you get your mum to come around anyway - she can always just sleep at yours if false alarm?
Was everything quick and straightforward first time?

Good luck

IcouldstillbeJoseph · 01/06/2013 03:27

Have you had any paracetamol?

littleginger · 01/06/2013 03:28

Isnt the advice to wait until contractions are every 4 minutes? Or until theyre so painful you cant talk.
I never experienced natural labour but always intended to call hospital once i did as i live quite a distance from hospital and wanted to be sure whether the right thing to do was wait or to come in

On one born every minute mum seem to be in delivery suite very very early on in labour

Call hospital and good luck!!!! Im very excited for you Grin

knittedslippersx3 · 01/06/2013 03:28

Ooh good luck! Sorry, I was induced and had an emergency section so I have no idea on contractions and timings. Hopefully someone wiser is typing as I type this!

ditsydoll · 01/06/2013 03:28

No paracetamol yet, will take some now. I was only in labour for 5 hours with my first so things went quite quickly.

I would phone the hospital and see what they say. Grin

IcouldstillbeJoseph · 01/06/2013 03:32

Yep - I'm a MW btw OP and I would get yourself on the phone and into del suite.
Hope all goes well for you

Sparklyboots · 01/06/2013 03:36

2nd baby - the advice is to get yourself in once they're regular. Good luck!

kefybaby · 01/06/2013 03:50

I second the advice to call the hospital and get your mum there. Your first labour was quite quick so this is likely to be fast(er) too. Also put any last minute items in your hospital bag. Things are likely to progress faster once your mum is there and you know your DC is safe with her. Get your driver ready too. All the best! You will soon have your bundle of joy in your arms one way or another. X

chickieno1 · 01/06/2013 05:54

oh wow good luck!

Dillydollydaydream · 01/06/2013 06:06

Good luck!
Things can speed up pretty quickly if you've had a baby before, I went from 4cm to baby here in just over an hour.
I think there's a saying - never trust a multip?!
Hopefully it won't be long til you meet your baby.

JennaRainbow · 01/06/2013 06:41

I was already 9cm by the time I thought to go to the hospital but it was too late and ended up having DS1 breech in the bath until ambulance arrived. - My contractions only turned unbearable when they woke me up from sleep.

Contractions vary, at least at the hospital you can get checked over and released if that not much dilated.

MultipleMama · 01/06/2013 09:45

Good luck.
