I'm 25 weeks pg and the size of a house! Can't believe there is still 15 weeks to go. Trying hard to eat healthily but still suffering with sickness, and all I can keep down is cheese and carbs! Any tips to limit the damage?
T.I.A Thanks

Try not to worry too much, your bump and shape will change again as you go into the 3rd trimester.

Eat whatever helps with the sickness, but if you are worried try limiting your portions, again as you go in the later weeks the baby will really start to press on your tummy and you wont be able to eat much in one go anyway.

Are you a big walker? I had a monstrous commute in my second / third trimester and actually came to appreciate it for keeping me on the go - kept my weight down and I felt fit and strong before the birth. Can you build half an hour of fairly brisk walking into your daily life?

Hi, thanks for the replies. I walk around the village where I live, swim and do my pregnancy Pilates DVD. My job also keeps me fairly active (12 hour night shifts) my diet is just crap! Gone off all lean protein (veggie since pg- not through choice!) and developed a full sugar coke / milkshake fixation. Gonna have to get a handle on my eating, just hoped there was a magic fix Blush

I sympathise OP - I was the same in my first trimester with the nausea, I lived on tuna mayo pasta and McDonalds cheeseburgers. The very thought of fresh food made me heave and my fixations were all consuming. All I can say is you're probably not quite yet in later stages, so things might change as they did for me at about 15 weeks. And what cake says - maybe you could try to curb things by having half what you usually would (my diet fix) - or at least starting with that? do you have a supportive DH who can forcibly withhold milkshakes? Grin

sorry, meant to say DP.

Hi op! This could have been me in my first pregnancy, I was absolutely huge and people were asking me if I was ready to drop at 25 weeks Grin same in this pregnancy actually I went completely off meat and pretty much all I ate was mashed potato, bread and pizza, I also drank chocolate milkshake by the gallon!! Just wanted to reassure you not to stress, I lost all my baby weight in a reasonable time without any great deal of effort. Pregnancy can be so hard when you struggle to find healthy things the baby wants you to eat and it's so tiring, you don't want to spend the next 15 weeks making yourself miserable by stressing about it. Just try and eat healthily when you feel like it, keep active where you can, take your vitamins and make sure you cut out the puddings when the baby is born and you will be fine! Smile

Sorry for the late reply - long day, no mn Sad. Thanks all, glad to know other people go through it. All the other pg people I know seem to be breezing through with no sickness and neat little bumps! DH is very supportive he knows I'm finding food prep impossible so he has taken full control of the kitchen. He's in there now cutting up a watermelon so I have something to pick at tonight / for breakfast tomorrow.

It gets worse! I found walking helps but if you aren't fond of walking maybe try a bit of YouTube yoga? I am beginning to think feeling beautiful in pregnancy is a myth but obviously we all like to feel good about ourselves no matter how much we look like eggs with legs! As long as you try to find a balance or supplement with vitamins then gaining a bit of weight is ok, I had to accept weight gain because I battled with it and made myself so miserable, now I'm just allowing it and ill deal with it after he's here! Good luck x
