surprise bfp

I was going to start this in AIBU, but then realised I wasn't that brave.

I got a lovely surprise this morning when I POAS'd. We weren't really TTC, just not being very careful. We have 2 DC (4.5 and 19 months) and I had an ectopic last October. I called mw and I'm having an early scan on Tuesday morning and will then make my booking in appointment.

The thing is, I feel a bit surprised by my BFP, even though I always wanted 3DC, and even though I'm glad it kind of happened by accident. I think I still feel a bit scared by any aches and pains (nothing serious, and nothing in any way like the pain of the ectopic). The mw this morning said that it's totally normal to feel nervous in the circs. I guess I wish my scan was sooner (though I know they would have given me an earlier one if they were worried, so that again is a good sign), and that no serious pain is good.

Anyone else feel a bit weird or worried after they got their BFP?

I think it's scary and a mixed bag of feelings for anyone, especially after a previous problem. Tuesday will be here before you know it, good luck! And congratulations Flowers

Thanks. I know it's a wonderful thing to happen and that we're v lucky.

congratulations Flowers i felt so worried when i got my bfp (still am) its took us 5 years of ttc and one failed ivf to get where i am today. I think its natural to worry esp after an etopic. Try to relax and keep as busy as you can, tues will be here before you know it. I have my first midwife app in a few days, i'm hoping to get an early scan too then we can stop stressing..the wait is horrendous isn't it xx

Apparentlychilled · 01/06/2013 13:49

Yep, not enjoying the wait. I keep thinking I can feel my period start or that I'm having worrying pains but in pretty sure it's all in my head.

Congratulations on your bfp btw!

I was so worried all the time right up until my twelve week scan two weeks ago. I had cramping and some bleeding so I had convinced myself I'd miscarried and I was in total bits. I know exactly where you're coming from :)

And congratulations!
