I am nearly 15 weeks pregnant and have terrible diarrhoea.
Vaguely remember seeing somewhere it is not good in pregnancy.
Anyone know anything else ?

Am no expert, but I had two very nasty virulent stomach bugs while pregnant with DS, one at 8 weeks and one at 10 - both involving vomiting and diarrhoea and stomach pains.

I asked the doctor when I went for my first appointment and she said that there was no need to worry - and it's quite common in early pregnancy as your immune system is lower.

I was also told it was nothing to worry about at all when I had a horrid tummy bug(pains, vomiting, diarrhoea)at 17 weeks.

If you have IBS that could also be made worse by pregnancy (some find it gets better in pregnancy, some find it gets worse)

hope you feel better soon, I wouldn't worry about your pregnancy at all Smile

I had a really bad stomach virus when pg with ds at almost exactly the same time. The main thing is to make sure you stay hydrated. Water and/or gatorade is good.

i had a very bad bug when pregnant with dd. went to the doctor as I had chronic diarrhoea I was told it was my hormones.(it wasn't as I found out when I ended up in hospital)
If you are worried go to your gp as stress will make it worse.

Thanks.
Am not overly worried at the mo, I haven't had another episode since i posted. Just remember something about it not being good and wondered when it went from being harmless to worrying.
Will keep a close eye on it - that'll be nice for me Wink
