Just wondering how much you have been charged for scan photos and how it was arranged? Did you pay before or after? How many photos could you get. This is for my 12 week scan...

ours is £2 a pic as many pics as you want, but from 30 weeks they say to get the token after the scan cause it can be difficult to see clear, had a scan in epau at 9 weeks and they gave us a pic for free

Ours asks for a donation and suggests £1. At my 7 week scan the sonographer refused to accept a donation and gave me two photos. At my 12 week scan we just put some money in the box without asking and at my anomaly scan the sonographer said the photos were a 'present' for my DH who couldn't be there and wouldn't hear of me giving any money.

The RVI is £3 per picture. You'll need pound coins - take change with you Grin

Thanks everyone. Should be fun finding pound coins! I'm sure I used to have a tube of them somewhere.

Meant to say, each £3 buys you a plastic card thingy which you exchange for pics in the scan room. There's a machine in the waiting area. At each one of my many, many scans I've been given more pics than I paid for. I normally pay for 3 and come out with 5 or 6.

Gonnabmummy · 26/05/2013 09:21

Wow we don't get charged for any at our hospital.. I had an early dating scan because we thought we might have been a month further on. I got around 7 for each scan 7/12/20 weeks

Yonididnaedaethat · 26/05/2013 10:14

Not charged but only allowed one photo.

Fozziebearmum2b · 26/05/2013 10:30

Fiver, but got loads of picsSmile

andadietcoke · 26/05/2013 10:56

£2 per photo, you buy tokens from a machine in the waiting area. However, saying that, we've never actually been asked to pay and have been given loads of photos - we think they feel sorry us given the financial implications of having twins as we've seen everyone else get asked!

MissHC · 26/05/2013 11:15

£5 for 1 pic or £10 for 3. Machine in waiting room to buy tokens. We paid for 3 but she gave us 4. Sonographer made some comments that made it clear she thought it was steep.

LadyMedea · 26/05/2013 11:44

£2 donation per pic, pay afterwards at reception. That's at Royal Berks. I thought was ok.... Although really they should give one free in my opinion.

PumpkinPie2013 · 26/05/2013 12:51

£5 per photo here (Oldham) we asked for two so £10 in total.
Paid the sonographer. Was a bit gutted as they were two identical pics but hey ho Smile

Mouserama · 03/06/2013 19:43

£4 for a token, and got 4 photos.

BumpAndGrind · 03/06/2013 19:51

I got 2 pics at my 7week for free and my 12 week will be free too.

I have to pay if I want pics of my 20 week scan, a fiver I think.

I'm at Wrexham.

Sailorchick14 · 04/06/2013 11:49

We bought tokens before the scan (£5 for 2 or £10 for 4). We paid for 4 pics but actually got 5.

BraveLilBear · 04/06/2013 13:55

In Hull, we got 1 12-week scan pic for free. At 20 week scan, you have to pay £5 into a machine in main reception (miles from ultrasound!) to get 4 pics, but they gave us about 6.

You're only allowed one 'set' of photos though per pregnancy, so a friend of ours found herself wandering around with the token in her purse for three weeks as she had to keep going back for repeat 20-week scans (little monkey wasn't playing ball - ever!)

knittingirl · 04/06/2013 14:03

Although there was a notice on the door about costs of pictures, at both the 12 and 20 week scans the sonographer just handed us three photos and didn't charge at all :)

knittingirl · 04/06/2013 14:04

Oh, and that's Nottingham.

CuppaCiggieBiccieBliss · 04/06/2013 15:06

Beth, at the RVI in Newcastle it's £3 for one token and you get 3 pictures Smile

TallulahBetty · 04/06/2013 15:09

£5 per pic. Had to pay the sonographer which I found an odd set-up.
