Wood stain and paint?!

I have heard many different opinions about this and I would love to know what others think.

We are renovating our house at the moment and my family are using wood stain and paint, Is this okay?

The windows are open and I go out when I can for a walk in the fresh air.

I'm 29+3.

They are fine as long as you take the usual precautions - really well ventilated rooms if indoors and take your time, slow pace and lots of breaks so your not overdoing it.
I'm 37 weeks so quite a bump and still painting, it's just taking much longer than it did before. I get into some unusual positions to do the skirting boards, sit on the steps/platform rather than stand and never do more than half a day with plenty of drinks breaks.
I would be so bored if I wasn't doing this and is satisfying that nesting instinct of getting the house spotless and clean. (it will never be like this again when baby arrives!)
