Pregnancy vitamins - empty stomach

I've been taking pregnancy vitamins for 4 weeks now ... and only just seen the advice on the side of the box which says not to take on an empty stomach. I take mine with a drink as soon as I get up (around an hour before I have breakfast) so I don't forget.

Is the advice due them making you feel sick on an empty stomach or is it dangerous?

I never knew this. I take mine as soon as I get up otherwise I would forget. And I am 14 weeks and all is going well x

When I did that they made me feel vvv sick. I took them last thing at night. Seemed ok.

I don't think it matters but when morning sickness kicks in beware! I havent been able to take regular prenatals in ages!

I found they made me feel slightly more queasy than normal if I took them without food. I generally take mine with my evening meal now but if your fine just carry on with what you are doing :)

I used to take mine in the morning but someone suggested I try taking them later in the day or at night. Funnily enough my morning sickness vanished at around the same time.
I also think having food in your tummy lets your body absorb the vitamins better.

That happened to me too. During the week I don't eat breakfast till I get into work, I was getting up and taking my supplement pill straight away and would feel really sick for a good hour or so later. It took DH being bored and reading the back of the packet one night to point this out to me! Ooops, now take them in the evening, straight after dinner, and haven't had the problem since.
