Pregnancy

IMO The worst thing about being pregnant is.....

in the early stages, when you're tired and feel (and look IME)like shite no-one offers you any help because without a bump they just don't know you're PG.
Even people who do know don't offer.

But in the late stages when you feel good, aren't tired (well not as much), look lovely and blooming and are enjoying the pregnancy everyone treats you like you're ill.

I can remember saying to various people "Errrr I'm pregnant...not ill" or "I can actually do that myslef you know....!!??"

I want people to do all my jobs now, I can do them when I big and fat but right now the last thing I want to do it cook, clean and supervise the kids.

Rant over.

Congratulations hana, didn't know you were expecting. Forgive me if I've confused you with someone else, aren't you from Halifax? I live in Dartmouth now.

Really! It's been pretty cold here lately too, still have the winter coats out "just in case"! We've bought a house close to Shubie Park, we love it. Great family neighbourhood and we can walk to school, playgroup etc. Still a few boxes lying around till we get some more furniture, but we're getting there. Now I'm due in January(!) so that will make our new home even better!

  • congrats to you as well, what a great way to start a new year. My girls know Shubie very well, lots of walks there with my parents whenever we visit, playing hide and seek and looking for squirrels. I went to JHS very close to Shubie - spooky! hope your preg is going well so far

The puking, the waiting, the SPD, the nerve entrapment, the worry and the scans. In fact the whole 9months were an absolute nightmare, and I'm amazed I did this 4 times.

The worse things for me are:

Backache
Sciatic
Hayfever
and babies that are OVERDUE, like 40 wks isn't enough!

the nights towards the end when it feels like the baby is trying to climb right out of your stomache like something out of Alien. and the tearing sensation in my ribs where i'm being stretched to capacity. and when i bend over forgetting i'm pregnant and hit the floor. and having no cloths that fit. and waking up in the morning feeling like i've gone 10 rounds in the boxing ring because of course baby doesn't feel like sleeping when mommy does. and when your walking down the street and baby shifts so he's sitting on your bladder and you need a toilet now but you're nowhere near home.

this is definitely the last time i do this to myself!

DEFINITELY the restless legs, am shuddering just thinking about it. Closely followed by the heartburn. Also puked quite a lot in all 3 pg (had hyperemisis in 1st) and that was obviously a big fat barrel of laughs too Grin
