Arms Reach / BabyBay Co sleepers

Hi,

Has anyone had an Arms Reach or BabyBay co-sleeper? If so, can you advise how long baby was in them for? I read on the Arms Reach site (US version) that they should only be used up to 5 months which doesn't seem very long at all!

I've got a BabyBay - DD's still in it but she's only two months! I can see she won't be in it for ages though: she's a long baby. But unless you put a newborn straight into a full size cot, their first bed (Moses basket etc.) won't ever last them that long.

There is a bigger BabyBay you can get - intended for twins I think - which you'd get more use out. Or some Ikea cots have sides you can take off so you could have a similar set up with a cot size bed.

If you do opt for a BabyBay by the way, look into getting it from German Amazon (amazon.de) - BabyBay is a German company and it's much cheaper that way!

Thanks for the advice. I'd like the co sleeper to last as long as possible so I'll look in to the bigger BabyBay :)

I've got the mothercare bedside cot and it seems pretty substantial and should be good enough till they move to a toddler bed. I liked the babybay ones but couldn't
justify the cost, although the maxi version seemed just as big as regular cots and should last longer than 5 months...

Yes, I'm thinking the BabyBay Maxi may be the way to go. I think that's just an extension piece to the original ...

If you want it to last, I'd convert a cot bed. Just take off one side and use bungee cords to keep it next to the bed, getting nursery safe foam to bridge any gaps. There are tutorials abailable online :)

Hazelnutt - that cot looks good but is on the German amazon - can you get it delivered to the UK?

crikey yes, they deliver to UK, the delivery cost was I think 14 euros.
