GTT test, anyone had/has one soon? Lost my info.

I have lost my letter that came with my appointment, i know you have to fast from the night before but does anyone know from what time?

If anyone knows it will save me having to phone up tomorrow.

I had mine 2 weeks ago.You should fast from midnight the night before.You can have tea/coffee no milk/sugar or water in the morning.Glucose drink isn't too bad either.

Hellkat...Having said that it is still best to check as my letter says to fast from 10pm, and nothing but water in the morning, so sounds like it is different in different parts of the country.

So best to ring antenatal and double check

I remember (vaguely as it was a couple of mths back) her saying fasting from midnight, only water in the morning, get the test, wait a couple of hours, get a sugery-type drink, have the other test & that's it. I'll be double checking with the mw on Thursday. Good luck with yours.

Ive been told I have to have this test too. Ive got to fast from 9.00pm the night before. Does anyone the effects of having too high/low a glucose level? does it affect the baby?

Trix1...All i know about it is if you do have pregnancy related diabetes it can make a big baby, don't know much else sorry, sure someone else can give you more advice.

Glucose Tolerance Test. Have mine on tuesday.

used to determine if you have pregnacy related diabetes. you fast from the night before, have a glucose drink and get your blood sugar level checked over a couple of hours to see if you are able to break down glucose normally or something.
