What are these sharp pains....

Hi all, i am 37wks and have been getting really uncomfortable sharp pains in my private partsShock he is moving around lots. Feels like he is head butting me down there or something! Would it be my cervix dilating or softening getting ready for labour?! I hope not as I'm booked in for an elc in 3weeks time! If anyone has any ideas as to what this could be that would be great. It's sooo uncomfortable!

Hiya have no idea sorry but thought I'd bump your post up.
Maybe it's the baby getting engaged? I felt that happen.
Give your midwife a call I'm sure she'l know Grin xx

Its pressure on your cervix from babys head its called lightening crotch ... Doesn't mean anythin been getting it for weeks & still waitin 39 & 3 :-) x

I'm glad you posted OP, I've been getting this too and wondered what on earth was going on until I saw this thread! Have Googled lightening crotch and now I can happily forget about it - thank you.
