Am I allowed to eat this??? Got a packet (pre packed) from Asda at the weekend an Iv just managed to devour half the pack for my lunch then realised I might not be allowed it. Can anyone shed some light on whether its ok or not?

Mm I have eaten salami and parma ham etc throughout. NHS says deli meats ok to eat (although they do note that some countries, like US I think, tell women to avoid, so they say whilst they don't advise against it, women can decide whether they want to or not). I think would be fine especially as pre-packed, sterile atmosphere etc - I have been eating on charcuterie boards etc which is probs worse!

I got a great wallchart off amazon about what you can and can't eat. Apparently, salami is ok as long as it's cooked (like you'd get on a pizza). I ate loads of stuff I shouldn't have at the beginning because I didn't know any better (I do now!). Try not to worry about it-the worrying will probably be worse for your pregnancy than the salami!!

As PP says, NHS guidelines are now that this is ok, cooked or uncooked. That's changed since I was pg last time (3.5 yrs ago) and I have been taking full advantage this time round! Currently 35+3 and no ill effects whatsoever.
