I'm 28 weeks pregnant

My newest discovery as I'm making cake pops,is my baby does not like hand mixer or the food processor. Angry thrashing about! I have a few cakes to make grrrrrr

Anyone have any weird things that they didn't expect?

The constant gnawing hunger that no matter how much you've eaten is still there after three meals and lots of snacks keeping you awake until you have to eat just to get some sleep.

Although to be fair I got the gnawing hunger after 20 weeks. It's still there at 26 weeks.

That it doesn't take until you're in your third trimester for your bladder to feel as though it's the size of a fecking pea. I've been a member of the Frequent Urinaters' Club since my BFP and am taking a bucket upstairs to bed with me.

If you want rice krispies after you brush your teeth and get into bed, you WILL go get them or stay awake until you give up.

That you will forget how to do simple things.

DP once found me in the kitchen holding a piece of cheesecake, in tears, because I'd forgotten how to eat. And the cheesecake looked so good!

He's a good man, he sat me down and brought me a spoon.

That you'll get a sensation like electric shocks on your cervix when the baby is head down. Agony!

That you'll reach a point when bending over becomes a mammoth task. My DD is 3 weeks now and I still have this thought process - drop something - sigh thinking how tough it will be to pick up - smile as I remember I'm no longer pregnant - pick it up! :)

That even at 17 weeks, it's impossible to lie on your back without feeling that the blood supply to your head is being completely cut off
That you worry when you feel ill and worry when you feel great
You can go a few hours forgetting that you're pregnant
When you need a nap you NEED a nap, there's no shaking it off
Even though you know you don't need to eat for two and you have the best intentions, your appetite sees you eating 4 meals a day plus snacks
Coughing makes you gag
Constant mucus which smells only slightly different but noticeable to you
How hairy your belly can get
People talk about baby brain but it really exists! I can't finish sentences and find it impossible to remember names!
How you can get incredibly thirsty but the thought of drinking water makes you feel sick

How you will need a crane to help you turn over in bed once in your last few weeks.

Shoes with laces or buckles become the devils work.

A body or pregnancy pillow will become your best friend.
You'll get inexplicably annoyed at DH in the middle of the night and want to thump him, and will feel thankful that your above mentioned body pillow creates a barrier in bed.
Your body retains hair during pregnancy so while the hair on your head might look great, you'll also be covered in a fine down and your treasure trail will be horribly thick.

That you don't sleep! I'm awake at 4am again. I'm not uncomfortable, hungry or needing a wee I just wake up and can't get back to bloody sleep!

I didn't get furry, but then I have very little body hair - but the hair on my head, oh yes! It started to be released about 2m after Ds2 was born and then came out in handfuls.

I also discovered that it didn't need washing as often in the 3rd trimester - it just didn't get greasy at all! Just as well, since I wash my hair bent over the bath and couldn't do that too easily by then

That you won't just be a bit tired, but that you will actually just fall asleep wherever said tiredness hits removes keyboard from forehead for third time while at work

Oh god, the hunger! It's just not like normal hunger is it? It wakes me up in the night and stops me from concentrating during the day. I live my life by planning what I will eat next and when!!

You'll get breathless putting your socks on.

You'll have days where you'll hate everyone in the world with such passion for no real reason at all.

You'll want to clean the house to within an inch of it's life but will be too tired to lift your head from the couch and that will make you cry.

Your sense of smell will be so strong that you'll be kept awake at night convinced you can smell the spices from your DP's dinner seeping out of his pores.

How easy it is to fall over in the street. I did it twice with dd1, and once with dd2. When I fell over whilst pregnant with dd2, I had dd1 on reins and managed to trip up a kerb and push her over . But in protecting the bump, I really hurt other parts. I sprained my foot, and another occasion I got really grazed knees.

Also, some things you go off with morning sickness, you could never face eating again. Honey nut mini shredded wheat (I love nutty cereals), and it took me years to like fruit again.

having to work out a system in bed to get comfy cause 1 the heartburn so sleep propped up but then 2 the pgp making your hips hurt when lying on that side too long but you can't sleep in your back and everytime your hips hurt you wake up to turn over and battle cause you'd only just got comfy,

in all honesty, I dont care about the rubbish stuff I love the not so secret little person in my belly thats mine and nobody elses, im the one that feels tge wriggles, it's amazing

That I would cry at EVERYTHING!!! I cry at films, soaps, adverts, trailers for films, and even just at the thought of certain films etc.

Oh an don't even get me started trying to watch britains got talent!!!!

That it's actually quite painful in the beginning when everything is stretching and moving around.

That you can't sleep properly right from the start.

That you need the loo ALL bloody night long but when you get there it's a drip.

That you get so restless and uncomfortable all the time. I get uncomfy sat at my desk at work , lieing in bed at night, sitting on the sofa etc.

The heartburn and indigestion come upon you even if you haven't eaten.

You get breathless just sitting still.

That sometimes you wake up in a pool of your own drool that's so large you wonder how you haven't drowned.

How when the baby kicks/pokes your cervix you actually jump up in horror and often pain.

How your feet can swell so much in the third trimester that you can feel housebound due to a lack of shoes that fit.

How you will want to buy shares in Gaviscon Advance and personally hug the person who created it.

How you will hoot with laughter when the midwife suggests at your 40 week checkup that you might want to try 'vigorous sex'.

How you can wake up in the middle of the night worrying about ridiculous things like 'will I love my child if it doesn't have hair' etc.
