Unpasteurised hard cheese

OK, I give up. Can I eat UNPASTEURISED hard cheese (cheddar, Parmesan) or not?

My doctor's take was "if in doubt, avoid", but my Neal's Yard habit is one of my biggest pleasures in life...

If you want to avoid all uneccessary risks then avoid all unpasteurised stuff. However, the likelihood of any problem is teeny tiny. Remember it is also safer never to cross the road when pregnant!

I agree, I ate unpasturised cheese when pregnant as I figured the french don't give it up do they.
