Weight gain in first trimester?

How much did you gain in first trimester? First pregnancy I gained 1 kilo in first trimester and I'm on second pregnancy 12 weeks exactly and already gained 5 kilos!!! I'm a bit worried bc first pregnancy I gained total 23 kilos! This time around I want to gain less. I am tall and usually thin. I guess I need to cut back on eating so much! I have been eating more bc this time around feeling sick every day and eating helps w the tummy sickness.

I can't remember exactly what I gained, but in your situation I wouldn't worry too much. When the sickness wears off (hopefully it will be soon...) your weight will probably plateau for a while.

I'm pregnant with dc2 and was really sick in the first three months. Ate loads and put on a load of weight, probably about a stone but it's evened out now towards the end as my eating returned to normal once the sickness eased off. People actually commenting on whether I've actually lost weight (everywhere except my belly obviously)!! Hopefully it'll ease up for you.

Okay, hopefully, my weight gain slows or takes a break for a little bit in second trimester :) I just don't want to gain more during second time and 23 kg is already a lot!

With DS1 I gained about 10 lbs in first trimester and panicked that I would be gargantuan by the end. I gained about another stone in the second trimester but it tapered off to only about half a stone in the third trimester. I'm now 14 weeks with no 2 and its the same pattern so far. It's down to snacking constantly to ward off nausea and no exercise because of fatigue.
I think the pregnancy guides that say you should gain nothing in the first trimester, 1/2 pound per week in the second trimester and 1 lb per week in the third are just ridiculous. Everyone is different and most women lose whatever they put on eventually anyway. Just another way of making women feel guilty and worried about their weight.

I'm 9 weeks today with dc2 and have out on about 6lbs already.
I feel massive my boobs are huge and i am continually grazing on carbs. I cannot let my stomach get empty as I feel so sick.
From memory a similar thing happened with ds1 I got big quickly but it then levelled out and my overall weight gain was about 2 stone.
