Spotting at 14 weeks?

I just had my dating scan yesterday which put me at 13w4, so I'm almost 14 weeks, and I've been having some brown discharge with a tiny hint of red to it. It started on Saturday, though we put it down to me and the husband "fooling around", stopped on Sunday. It has just started again this morning, I have a little bit of an ache in the downstairs area but that's it, no cramps etc. Baby looked perfectly fine on the scan, stretching and wriggling away, even giving us a wave! Do I have any need to be concerned, or should I try and contact my midwife (almost impossible to get in touch with her, even through my Dr!)?

I had bits of blood on wiping from 14 - 23 weeks, every few days and never found out why but baby was fine (I'm 30 weeks now). As I'm RHNeg, I had to had anti d injections every 72 hours (until we found out my baby is also RHNeg) so if you happen to be RHNeg blood group you definitely need to call but I'd probably call anyway, just to put your mind at rest. But I wouldn't worry too much, bleeding is more common than I ever realised. Good luck and let us know how you get on x p.s. my midwife was hard to get hold of so I just phoned the EPU at the hospital instead and they were very helpful (I'd seen 2 GPs first who messed up and didn't get me seen when they should have but that's another story!)

I'm sure it will be fine but I would go in to your EPU to be checked out.
