Hi all,

16 weeks on Tuesday and looking for a book that tells you the basics, I.e - how to swaddle, how many layers baby needs, room-bath temps etc. is there such a thing out there?

Thanks

You get a book from the NHS 'birth to five' that covers the essentials. Most baby books are riddled with personal opinion so I'd say read none or lots otherwise you will go insane trying to fit into a routine created by someone who has never had her own child.

I had 'Your Baby Week By Week' by Dr Caroline Fertleman and Simone Cave recommended to me and I've found it very useful. Just has basic stuff on how often to change nappies, when to bath them, how much crying/feeding/sleep you might expect etc…

The NHS book is being phased out in print form - our HV said it would be available online though.
