Hello ladies, haven't posted on here for years but often pop on for a read. Now I need you all to put my mind at rest please.
Please tell me that unprotected sex, ONE TIME, cannot get you pregnant at age 44. Please.
It was at day 5 of my last cycle, normally 23-27 days these days, getting shorter. I am currently at day 25 with no sign of period coming. No sore boobs mainly. The thing is, I have stopped my period before by subconsciously worrying about pregnancy. I have 2 lovely daughters, 12 and 9 and I thought we were finished, as it were.
Somebody please tell me it would be a medical miracle if I was pregnant. (I did get pg in one cycle with both daughters, so that possibly explains my worry).
Thanks for any input.

We can tell you what you want to hear but it won't make it true.
Do a test, put your mind at ease. Hope you get the answer you want Wink

Pee on a stick :-)

Got it, RandomMess.
Isn't it too early to POAS, a neg result wouldn't mean anything?

If your period is normally due on day 27, I would guess you can test tomorrow x

Sperm can live a max of 5 days, so if you only dtd on cd5 you would have to have ovulated by cd10 to conceive,so at cd25 now you would have conceived over 2 weeks ago, a test should give fairly accurate results.
We had an unplanned but not unwanted pregnancy last year when I had just turned 44. After the initial shock(we thought we were past it too!) we were really pleased and excited and were devastated when I miscarried at 11weeks.

Irishmammybread · 06/04/2013 20:49

sorry, posted too soon!
We now felt we really wanted another baby so waited a cycle, tried again and conceived straight away. I miscarried at 6 weeks, then got pregnant again straight away but sadly lost this one too.
Sorry to be full of doom and gloom but my point is that you can get pregnant at this age,if you are you might find it feels like a blessing after the shock has worn off and I was unlucky,a lot of older mums have successful pregnancies.
I hope you have a happy outcome, whatever your result when you poas! xx

You can't actually prevent your period by worrying it away (urban myth). Ovulation can be delayed/stopped if you're really stressed though. Sex in CD5 is very unlikely to have got you pregnant. However, I think if you got a pregnancy test is likely to be accurate at this point in the cycle and put your mind at ease.
