Had a sweep yesterday. Have been getting a bit of blood when I wipe...does this mean labour is on it's way?

Blood is old, brown blood. No snotty, mucousy show type stuff or any real contractions yet. Very intense BHs though and a few achey pains in my cervix.

40+2 today. Would love to have my baby soon, very soon!

What happened after your sweep?

Might not be what you want to hear, I had the exact same as you for a day or so. Walking round Tesco the day I had my sweep I really thought it was going to start happen, as I had quite intense pains but it all died off and I was 41+5 when she finally decided to show!
I think pains and a bit of blood are quite normal after a sweep but sure someone will be along soon will a success story!

I could live with 40+5 just no longer!

I know, it's ridiculously uncomfortable but when I reached my due date I took a little bit of comfort in the fact that one way or another, in two weeks, I would have my baby!
I spent the last two weeks wanting her out, labour wishing to god I was just pregnant and uncomfortable, and then after just glad it was all over!

You could try the old wives' tales, hot curry, long walk, sex, hot bath etc
I only tried the hot bath and it didn't work for me but some people swear they do!

I had a sweep on Tuesday and had brown blood on Tuesday and Wednesday. Yesterday I had a pink 'show' but still no baby! I was convinced I was in labour last night and this morning but it's all died down.

I'm hoping for another sweep tomorrow. Good luck - I hope yours works!

I'm feeling decidedly unbirthy at the moment Sneezy but have just had a tin of pineapple I know that won't work and am planning on bouncing on the gym ball all afternoon.
