Bit scared and don't know what to do

I've just got back from my MW checkup (36 weeks). Blood pressure had jumped from excellent to very high (160/100) since last time and there was a little bit of protein in the urine. I've also felt pretty rotten over the last week but just thought it was normal at this stage. The midwife has booked me in at the hospital at 9.00 am tomorrow for further testing.

So I'm feeling a little bit scared and teary, in addition to the generally rotten feeling. This isn't helped by the fact that my husband is away at the moment (8 hours away), due back on Saturday. He's at an extremely important meeting which will secure funding, and therefore his job, for the next few years. If he needs to be here, I know he'll be here whatever the consequences, but I don't know if he needs to be here or not.

What should I do?

i would keep him informed. and just try to relax. it's easy to say but honest, it happened to me, ok at 39 weeks, but it's not all that bad.

see what they say tomorrow. you know your dh will be there if needed in the meantime is there family that can possibly go with you tomorrow.

one outcome would be they will tell you that baby will early.

Yes my daughter (19) is going with me. We're abroad so other than that, there's nobody else around.

Sounds like they want to rule out pre eclampsia. I would keep DH informed and just see what the hospital want to do with you. They may just give you blood pressure medication.

Sounds like a plan. Thank you both. I feel a bit calmer now.

just sit and watch tv and just relax for the afternoon it's the best reason to forget the house work

hope everything has gone ok today x

It's fine, thank you. I'm home again now. Apparently it's a kidney infection so plenty of fluids and antibiotics should sort me out. I think my poor husband has been beside himself with worry. Hundreds of missed calls, text messages, emails, answer machine messages. I'm not sure how productive he's been at this meeting today. :o
