Miscarried now pregnant again

Hi all

Just looking for anyone that may have had a similar experience to me. I miscarried in November after finding out a the 12 week scan that the baby had not survived past 5 weeks! I am now 6 weeks pregnant again and very anxious. My first pregnancy (3 year old now) I was very sick but in the miscarried pregnancy had no sickness. As I said before I am now 6 weeks but again no sickness just very tired and tender boobs. I have booked a scan with a private hospital for Wednesday but I don't no if its worth it as of course am sadly aware of miscarriages later on.

I'm really sorry u have been through this. I have had two miscarriages so know how u feel. I am now 7 weeks and have had 2 scans already and have another next week.
It is definately worth it because even though U only found out at 12 weeks as u say the baby stopped growing at five. I have been told my the hospital that most happen early on but because people don't scan til 12 weeks they don't know til then.
I'm sure everything will be fine. But good luck and let us know how scan goes xxx

Hi Jennie, I had a miscarriage in November and was pregnant again in December. I went for an early scan at nearly 7 weeks and was reassured to see a heartbeat. I was told that seeing a heartbeat at that stage is a very good sign that the pregnancy will progress but not a guarantee. The sickness didn't kick in until 7-8 weeks and lasted through until 16 weeks. I am now 20 weeks and looking forward to seeing baby again soon.

Try not to worry. I had 3 miscarriages in a row and had finally given up on having another baby then this happened. It can work out even after having such a miserable time.

Hi Jennie. Sorry for your losses. MC are truely heart breaking. I had 2 last August and October a d am now 6.2 weeks pregnant again. I also have a scan Wednesday. I have been worrying g about not havi g sore boobs and sickness as I did with my first full term pregnancy. I have a DS aged 3. Good luck with your scan Wednesday. I am so sorry for your loss.
I've had 3 m/c's.
The first one, similar to yours, I found out at the scan that the pregnancy had ended at about 6 weeks. It wouldn't pass naturally so had to have a D&C.
A few years later, I had another m/c. 5 weeks this time, all natural.
The following year I fell pregnant again and was petrified. The pregnancy went to term and I have a 5yo ds now.
When ds was about 6/7 months we decided to try for another. One evening, we were at SIL's and I felt odd, very very wrong. The following morning, I woke with lots of cramps and in the shower started bleeding.
I went to the GP when we returned home a few days later and she said there'd be no need to check the uterus emptied etc.
6 weeks later I still felt odd but in a different way so did a test which came back positive.
I went back to GP to discuss this because I know a few females in my family have lost a twin but carried on the pregnancy with one.
She referred me for an emergency scan which showed I was roughly 5 weeks pregnant.
I now have a 4yo ds2.

I know it;s really hard and scary, but please try not to worry. You haven't seen any negative signs, so fingers crossed it's looking ok.

I'm so sorry to hear what you have been through. I miscarried in the summer but was pregnant again in sept. we had a 7 week scan (private) as I just didn't want to get my hopes up if things had already gone wrong again. I cried (proper snotty uselessness) at the scan when there was a tiny heartbeat so yes it definitely was worth it for me as it meant I had some early reassurance (now 31 weeks with a very hyperactive baby so constant reassurance that he is there and fine). As you say, nothing is ever definite with any pregnancy but the odds are in your favour. Good luck with it all. Xx

Try not to worry i had a missed miscarriage in july and got pregnant again in august and i am now 32weeks pregnant and i have had no sickness at all so please dont worry you will be fine :) x

I am in the same boat as you. Pregnant again (about 3 weeks I reckon) after a spontaneous miscarriage last summer at around 10 weeks. I have no sickness with either pregnancy. I miscarried at home in Ireland on the day I travelled, and i am due to go there again in a few weeks. I know there is no evidence linking air travel with MC, but I couldn't bare it if it happened again when I am there. I don't think my mum would cope either. Soooo I am thinking that I might get an early scan to give me a bit of reasurance. Any tips on how to go about this would be very welcome. I feel your pain Jennie, this pregnancy stuff throws up dilemmas that there are no training manuals for.

aoife I went to my doctor and spoke to them about my concerns after previous mc and they referred me to the early pregnancy clinic at my local hospital who then monitor you until they are happy that baby is growing well. They also do the early scans there and I have had 2 already because I had some pain and spotting. I also have another on Wednesday so they really do try and put ur mind at rest.
So it may be worth speaking to ur doctor or local maternity hospital to see if they offer a similar service x
