Chance of mc after 10 weeks scan

Hello, I had a scan at 10+1 and saw hb and baby jumping up and down. Since finding out I'm pregnant I have been finding it very hard to relax and believe its real, due to not have many symtoms. The scan was reassuring but does anyone know if there is still a high misscarriage chance? I am feeling so panicked and wish I could just relax

Very low risk now you are 10 weeks and have seen a heartbeat. Copied this from miscarriage association website for you:

A heartbeat at 8 weeks increases the chance of a continuing pregnancy to 98% and at 10 weeks that goes up to 99.4%.

Thanks ladies :) I had read the 99.4% of pregnancy continuing after 10 weeks on the miscarriage association website, but thought it seemed really low considering the amount of stories of woman losing there babies via mmc at 12 week scan. But if its on the official miscarriage associate website it must have truth.
So does that mean the risk after a positive scan at 10 weeks is the same as 12 weeks?

Most women who discover a MMC at 12 weeks haven't had a scan at or post 8 weeks and seen a heartbeat. Sadly, all too often, the baby died some weeks prior to the 12 week scan. The largest risk of miscarriage is that the fetus never gets to the point of a viable heart beat.

I know it's stressful, but it's all looking good for you

I asked my midwife this question and she told me that as soon as you get a scan and see a heartbeat, the risk goes down to 5%, so that's higher than the other figures in this thread but low enough that I've relaxed and started telling people now I've had my scan yesterday (I'm 9+6 btw)

Yes I had a mmc and found out at the 12 week scan but that was the first scan I had if I had a scan at 10 weeks the result would have been the same

I had an early scan at 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat but then I really panicked that things could still go wrong (which, of course, we all know can) but I really had to hammer it home to myself that if anything were to go wrong, then it was going to go wrong regardless of what I did-ie, there would be nothing I could do to prevent it.

The fact that you have seen a hb is great news and you are so close to that 12 week mark.

Also, don't worry about lack of symptoms. I had no symptoms whatsoever. In fact - up until about 32 weeks when my bp started dancing around and I got a touch of heartburn/indigestion (so mild that polos remedied it throughout) I wouldn't have known I was pregnant (well, aside from the huge bump and the IVF i'd had to go through to get pregnant in the first place). If I were you, i'd enjoy being symptom free as the nastier effects can (and from reading post after post on here) and do hit at any time.

More than anything I would say, enjoy every single minute of your pregnancy. I love having my ds here of course - but I also miss being pregnant - probably cos I know what an effort it was to get pregnant and that it may be the only time I get to do it. It's a magical time, and it may not seem like it but it'll be over in a flash. Yes, you'll love each stage afterwards but it really is a time to cherish.
