Has anyone had an early scan and only 1 baby was seen then
2 or more babies were found on later scans?

My dp is convinced that I am having twins this time although at my 6 week scan there was only one, I have been having extreme morning sickness, already starting to showing and having flutters and I'm around 9 weeks. I'm trying to prove to him that it is very rare and my symptoms are probably different in this pregnancy because each pregnancy is different.

I'm 11 weeks, have been hospitalised with sickness, have rather a firm round tummy and have definitely felt bubbling and other sensations. I've had two scans at 6 and10 weeks and only one baby for sure.

Could happen though I suppose......

No.... But did have surprise multiples (twins) at the 12 week scan! We hadn't had an early scan, so I assume they would have seen two in there from day dot.... But I already have a DD and have certainly had double the exhaustion and sickness that I had with her!!

I had a scan at 7 weeks and there were two clear sacs and heartbeats, but I have heard of them 'hiding' one behind the other. Saying that though, I don't think I had pg symptoms any worse than with a singleton in terms of tiredness, morning sickness, early movement etc. But this is my first sticky pregnancy so I don't have anything to compare with!!

Someone I know had a scan at 7 weeks and there was 1 and at 12 weeks there were 2 :-)

I've got 2 sets of twins and was very surprised the first time lol

Our sonographer saw twins immediately at the 12 week scan and switched our screen off as soon as she put the probe on my stomach, I thought something was wrong, but she just wanted to check things out before saying anything to me. They are so well trained and do so many hundreds of scans that they know exactly what they are looking for. I would very much doubt they would make such an error.
