Different pregnancy symptoms - different gender?

I'm much sicker with this pregnancy - actually vomiting everyday whereas with my DS I had a couple of weeks of mild nausea if that.

Just wondering if this is an indication of a different gender with the second? Did anyone else feel much more sick with the second but still get the same gender as your first.

I know it's all guesswork in the end but I like guessing!!

No, it's twins!

I'm pregnant with dc 4, with my boys I was very sick vomiting several times a day but when pregnant with my dd I was mildly nauseas and vomited just the once. When I had my 20wk scan I was told I was probably having a girl this time and again I've been nauseas but not actually vomited at all. It might be purely coincidental but I've had dd, ds, ds now dd.

Ha ha ha - it's definitely not twins! (I had an early scan due to previous ectopic so I can definitely be sure of that - I hope!)

Sorry, that was a bit unkind Blush.

No, I don't think that there is any evidence that different pregnancy symptoms mean different gender.
However, MS can get worse and worse which each pregnancy.

FWIW, I had 4 successful pregnancies with v little in the way of MS, but had dreadful heartburn with one, disabling sacroiliac joint pain in the middle of another and had my bonemarrow stop working properly in another one (yep, had not seen that one coming...) - all boys Grin!

Make of that what you will.

Whatever you decide you 'feel' like you are having, you have a 50% chance of being right. Better than most bets offered by the bookies Wink.

No different pregnancy = different symptoms! nothing to do with gender

Jojobump1986 · 24/03/2013 20:47

I had no sickness or nausea at all with DS1. Am currently pregnant with DC2 & boy do I know it! I was nauseated from 3-17 weeks to the point where from 5-15 weeks I could barely get out of bed & lost over 10% of my body weight! Now at 29 weeks I'm having seemingly endless braxton hicks but didn't have any last time! Confused I was convinced it was a girl until the end of the 20 week scan when it was very clear that it's another boy!

I have 2 Ds's and both were so different with Ds1 I has no sickness/cravings/ weightgain ...Ds2 however sick as a dog thrush/cystitis AND gained an extra 4 bloody stone.....you never get 2 the same , good luck with the rest of your pregnancy x

I have 3 DC...

first pregnancy - sickness in first trimester, then felt fine - boy

second pregnancy - barely even nauseous - boy

third pregnancy - dreadful sickness and felt absolutely terrible all the way through - boy

Grin

I couldn't tell you how many people were convinced DC3 was a girl because of the sickness, but nope - just a different pregnancy.

Rororowmeboat · 24/03/2013 21:30

How boring and utterly sensible - different pregnancy, different symptoms. Oh we'll there goes that theory! I will have to just wait and see, although love the wait & guessing so not finding out the sex again - glutton for punishment! Thanks folks

With Dd I was slightly sick, nothing major and no morning sickness. I was very very fatigued though and lethargic in the first 12 weeks. I could have slept for days. Once I got past 13 weeks I had a con

With DS I had no symptoms whatsoever.

IHeartKingThistle · 24/03/2013 21:34

Not sure about sickness but with DD I was spotty as hell and with DS I looked freaking gorgeous!

dragonflymama · 24/03/2013 21:59

Pregnancy with dd1 was a breeze, whereas this pregnancy with dd2 is complete opposite (exhausted, MS throughout, uncomfortable, etc - currently 29 wks). I thought it was a boy as so different, but nope another little lady...

Hopingforno2 · 24/03/2013 22:10

1st pregnancy with ds nausea no vomitting, this pregnancy felt dreadful till 15 weeks was sick once a day and scans say its a girl.

beckie90 · 25/03/2013 07:30

Pregnant with 3rd ds. All my pregnancys have been completely different, ds1 felt great other then dizziness gained 4st skin was great. Ds2 was very nauseous, migraines, lost a lot of weight, skin was just normal. This time I've had nausea and sickness, migraines, dizziness, skin is shocking, I'm moody. But all boys.
