hello all! this is my first foray into MN territory!

pregnant with my first...endless excitement!

developed some interesting food-isms in the last few weeks, and just curious to see if I'm the only one (though I am sure that can't be the case...)

for a couple of weeks I was the hungriest I've ever been. Literally could not get things into my mouth fast enough. NOW, I'm having the opposite problem.

I can barely eat more than four bites at a time! If i try to eat any more, I come over all nauseated.

anyone else had this experience?

Hi! Congratulations!!

I no how you feel! I've had major food aversions so much so that I've lost 7lbs in the first 12weeks!

It's really strange I never knew you could not feel hungry when pregnant I was worried. It gets better though and I've found that if I eat little an often it's better than trying to eat one big meal. Also if you find something that you can eat lots of then just keep eating it until you get bored of it. I've been living off Caesar salads and grapes lol

How many weeks are you? I was like you at about 6-7 weeks just ravenous all the time.
Though now at 34 weeks I don't really have much of an appetite. I suppose as the baby gets bigger there's less room to put everything so have to eat smaller portions.

Congrats on your pregnancy and welcome to MN!

thank you!

i have certainly found the 'little and often approach' useful! I've heard from others that eating slowly helps as well...so i'll definitely be giving that a conscious effort.

I'm only 13 weeks, so we've still got a way to go!

Just eat what you can, when you can.

With both of mine I went through a phase of 2-3 weeks where I'd prepare and cook a meal only to sit down and not be able to eat it. I made up for it later on Grin
