Hi,
I just want to know if there's anybody who has experienced this also.......good or bad outcomes!

When I first discovered I was pregnant at about 6 weeks (at least, could be further on than that) I had some light spotting (pale pink and brown) for 5 days but just in the evenings.

I'm now 9 weeks (again, could be further on) and have started spotting again today, very light just when I wipe and a kind of browny red.

I'm not in pain but do have some discomfort today in my lower pelvic area, almost like a stabbing feeling but not particular painful, just nagging.

I meet my midwife on Tuesday, and have been told I won't be able to have an early scan due to this bleeding without referral from my gp which could take up to a week.

Hi I had similar, I went to emergency docs and got a referral through him. It was nothing in the end thank goodness

I spotted a little at 9 weeks, I just rested and monitored it as it was a small amount. Turned out to be implantation bleeding, according to my mw it is quite common at that point. X

This is the second time I have spotted in 4 weeks though, is that normal?

I had spotting like that on and off from weeks 4 to 8 (now 30 weeks). I think it often can come from the cervix due to hormonal changes. I had scans at 6, 8 and 12 weeks which were normal.

are you in the uk? a lot of hospitals have an early pregnancy assessment unit who usually will see and scan you same day monday to Friday. You usually need to get a dr referral so it might be best speaking to your gp on the phone tomorrow and see if they'll refer you as soon as possible.

Thanks choccybaby. It's great to hear that someone else has had a similar experience, I am going to try and speak to my doctor first thing in the morning.

I had spotting on and off from about 5 weeks until about 15. Am now 20+1. Midwife said sounded very normal and nothing to worry about. Just started feeling baby move in the last week, so seems to all be ok so far!

By all means get it checked out to put your mind at rest, but since I've been addicted to using mumsnet it's one of the most common anxiety threads that I have seen and almost always turns out to be nothing to worry about.

Good luck with your pregnancy!
