swelling

hi all,

does anyone have a remedy for a swollen face? I am beginning to look like a monster from the deep. I don't think I've put on too much weight (am no skinny minnie, but don't think I've gone too far) at 24+5, but my face and neck are both very bloated. I don't normally consider myself vain but I obviously am as this is making me feel pretty bad!

Any tips, or should I just get over myself?

Have you discussed this with your MW? Did your face become swollen very suddenly?

gertrudestein · 21/03/2013 10:58

I don't think so, it seemed more like a gradual thing and I thought it was just about putting on weight, but my neck has been swollen for a week or so now and it seems to be much more than normal weight gain. Do you think I should talk to the mw? I am seeing her next week.

I would call her now if you're able to. She'll know what questions to ask you.

I agree with expat, give the midwife a call

Definitely call your MW mine told me to phone straight away if i notice swelling in the face/neck

MyLittleAprilSunshine · 21/03/2013 18:17

I'd definitely phone them - if you have any swelling in your face/neck or extremities they want to know asap.

Just wanted to say thanks for the advice - went to get checked out and luckily it's not pre eclampsia but I would urge anyone else who's noticed swelling face, hands or feet to follow the very sensible advice of the people on this thread, and talk to a midwife ASAP

Very happy to hear it wasn't PE. I was wondering how you were doing.

That's good, long as you're ok
