Am I weird?

you'll all prob say yes but I want another baby again already - and Joey's only 10 weeks old!

please someone say i'm mad to even think about ttc again so soon. (not like it's gonna happen anyways as DH and I have only had sex once so far this year! :()

I miss being PG thou, when does this feeling pass or does it not? we were going to wait until Joey was 2 before ttc again but i'm thinking more 6 months now.

just Joey for the minute. I did want 6 (pre Joey! lol) now i'm thinking 3/4 would be nice.

lol@ twig - DH Joey was born on the thurs am and by sun eve I was saying to DH aI wanted another one but he said no! lol. don't want to tell him I want another one again! lol.

I'd hold off for a wee while tbh, purely to give your body a chance to recover from the first pregnancy and birth. Although totally know where you're coming from!

Nope not weird at all. Dp & I were called weird after ds2 was born. Walking up to the ward, straight after delivery I was broody as heck! The mw's joked that 9 mths time they'd see us back there.
I'll probably be the same after this ones born too

lol, I think we'll end up waiting and enjoying Joey, it doesn't help my mate's due in august so still brooding esp when she talks about the baby kicking and everything!

oh what joys! lol. still don't stop u wawnting another thou does it!

i wanted another baby straight away after DD was born. it never really went and i really struggled to come to terms with the fact that we wouldn't have another one as DP just said "no more kids". i started giving all the baby things to charity in an attempt to get rid of the idea and feelings. then it took me a week to convince DP to ttc and now pretty much exactly 5 years after having DD we're about to have a little boy.

if you are going for 3 or 4 then give your body time to recover in between - so maybe leave it a year before TTC - that would give you about a 2 year gap.

that's what the origional plan was, who'd guess having a baby would make you sooooo broody again so quickly after, every milestone is fab for joey but also sad at the same time - in a few weeks we'll be thinking about his own room :( before we know it it will be his first birthday then first day at nursery :(

Seriously, I was broody again about two minutes after dd was born. Six months on, I'm still eyeing up pregnant women in the street jealously, and offering to hold newborn babies so their mums can have a break...

lol, ah hester me old mucker, how r u girl? I did ask DH about it on friday as I brought some condoms - I ask u 24 years of age, amrried 3 years and it';s the first time I ever brought them on friday! anyhow he said he doesn't like them I said tough as i'm BF, or we could risk it, his answer - lets not have sex till u've stopped feeding :( but he'll wear a comdom under protest.

Hi munz,

I remember looking down at dd1 in the hospital and thinking I want another one straight away. We had intended to wait for 2 years to have another baby, but instead dd2 was born 14 months after dd1. Messed me up a bit tho as I ended up on crutches with sacroilliac joint dysfunction.
Now DD1 will be 4 next month, DD2 will be 3 in August and DD3 is due in July.
I swear I could quite happily keep having children. Except that my back is pretty messed up and am in a lot of pain.

oh god PD - is that due to the closeness in age do you think or jsut one of those things as it were?

I went to mother/toddler today now even more broody even thou Joey was the youngest there! lol.

I started feeling broody about a week after DS2 was born (who is 1 next week).

I'm not sure if we'll have another one yet or wether to concentrate on the 2 that I've got, but the thought of never carrying another baby again, even giving birth again and having another child saddens me.

I think it's natural for women to feel broody during their reproductive years. I definately felt broody very soon after having dd (2nd)
She's now 2.5 yrs and I wouldn't say I'm really broody but I do love little babies. I just keep reminding myself that they grow very quickly!

I think it's about knowing how many children (not babies!) you can realisticly have. It we all had a baby every time we felt broody we would all babies for each year of our reproductive lives!

I think it's just about enjoying the children you do have, enjoying watching them grow and develop and having other interests outside of your children. It would be very easy to all stay home and have baby year after year but I don't know if that would be selfish. I think so, possibly, as it's about the mother's needs rather than the child.

I doubt it. I would think it would be very difficult and challenging. I find the idea that staying at home and having a large family is "selfish" or "very easy" quite bizarre. I know lots of people from large families who were very well cared for and loved. And I don't think their mothers felt their lives were "easy".

Not because I was broody - but dd was born 15 months after ds, and after the initial drudgery, I am really glad they are close together.

just one of those things - she was one of the unlcuky ones.

My twins are 18 months younger than DS1 - had no problems like that - but it is still exhausting being pregnant with young children around. I know lots of people who have a gap of 1 - 1.5 years and they would probably all agree.

And if you want 3 or 4 then it would be wise to give your body time to recover before you subject it to being pregnant again too quickly. Unless you want to go for something like small gap then a bigger gap.
