Can anyone recommend ones that don't have sweeteners and other nasties and taste ok with soya or rice milk. Am struggling to eat much at the moment as my heartburn and indigestion has reappeared at 33 weeks. I am on omeprazole but its not working as well- obviously

I think just plain whey protein is ok. Mix it with milk, banana, honey and maybe peanut butter to give taste and added goodness.

Yup, just buy a plain protein powder that agrees with you (e.g. hemp, whey, egg, etc) and mix with fruit/ milk/ honey/ nut butter/ etc to taste. In my athlete days I used to get my unadulterated protein powders from health food shops.

Whey protein is the recommended one - avoid soya. Boots stock sanatogen plain whey powder. It tastes fairly bland and can be added to museli, yoghurt etc as well as used in a shake.

I love the PhD Pharma chocolate cookie one. No idea about sweeteners but it's the only one I've found that I actually like the flavour of. The vanilla one is nice too. They used to do sample sachets so you could try them before committing to a whole tub.
