Just a rant really! Don't understand how hospitals and doctors surgerys don't know what's going on?

I've been trying to book my 16 week appointment.. Now as I'm low risk Northwick Park have said I should go to my GP for all antenatal appointments (except blood test, scans etc) so I tried to book an appointment today - I was told that my doctors don't do antenatal appointments anymore and they got me to call Ealing Hospital. Ealing hospital won't book me an appointment because I'm meant to be giving birth at Northwick Park, so they told me to call them. Northwick Park won't see me because I'm in a shared care plan and they only deal with high risk pregnancies.. So have been told to call my doctors!!!

I'm so frustrated and don't understand it at all.. Plus with all the extra hormones I'm feeling a bit more fragile than usual!

Has anyone else had this kind of experience? It makes me worry about the rest of my pregnancy and birth.. Whether notes will be passed on/missed and things like that!

Rubbish isn't it?! I've had all 3 of mine at Ealing and only by dc3 did I understand the system.
My midwife checks were at the gp surgery but not carried out by the gp. It was all organised via the community midwives. Once the first appt starts the others all follow. Call Northwick Pk and ask for the number for the community midwives. Good luck!

Thanks, I spoke to midwives and they said my GP surgery has to tell me where their midwife has been moved to.. But can't seem to get any answers from GP!
Think I might leave it for today and try again on Monday!

I'd phone the hospital and ask to speak to the supervisor of midwives. Explain that you're being shunted around and have no idea how to get a simple appointment. She will sort it out I'm sure.
