im 32 weeks pregnant i feel a bit sad about what pregnancy is doing to my body. i know i will get a beautiful baby at the end of it but i still find it really upsetting.

i was a size 10/12 and 9st prior to pregnancy and worked hard at the gym,im not trying to big myself up but i had nice boobs and butt too.

now i have a fat bum/thighs/back/cellulite, spider veins in my legs, swollen calfs, big brown nipples!! scaring on my back from acne in early pregnancy. i just feel like i will never be the person i was before all this.

does/has anyone else ever felt like this

i know im gonna find my post baby body really difficult to deal with

Yep I'm going through something similar. So much that I had to go buy some extra clothes tonight after work because I felt so low about myself.

I was speaking to the woman in the shop, saying how I felt and she said 'I bet you're about 32 weeks'. I told her I was and she said that's apparently the point where you 'peak' in terms of being low about your body if it's going to happen. She was bang on with me. I had been in another shop with surrounding mirrors Hmm and looked horrific. Really awful. It made me feel so much worse but going into a better shop and trying on well fitting clothes made me feel much better.

I hope you get past it hon. It does take time I think. xx

But you will go back to normal after the birth especially as you were fit and active before getting pregnant. You have to try not to let this spoil your last few weeks of pregnancy.

I had a csection 6 weeks ago and was size 10 pre pregnancy and am almost back to normal. I haven't done much apart from walking.

You won't care as much as you think you will once the baby is here.

I know exactly how your feeling!! I'm the same and I'm 38+3 weeks..
My body has changed horribly! I used to like how my body looked size 8-10 boobs and perky bum, but now I've got a big baby bump (obviously) terrible stretch marks on my bum, thighs and boobs and cellulite on my bum and legs I don't like how I see myself in the mirror anymore my fiancé says it doesn't bother him cos it will fade but then when you find out he's been texting other women inappropriately under the name Jay 2 weeks before your due doesn't really spike much self confidence!!!!!

It's a horrible feeling it really is but the only thing keeping me going is knowing that my baby will be here soon, and that after he's here I can get to work on getting my body and confidence back..
I know it's not much help but it's not a change forever that's what I tell myself :) good luck x

It's not a change forever. Stretch marks fade, the colour of the nipples fade and you'll go back to your pre-pg body if your active. Just try to remember that it takes 9 months to change your body and may take that long to go back to what your used to.

Our bodies change with time but pregnancy is a little more dramatic so I can relate to it being more troubling - try not to let it get you down.

It all goes back to normal. Honestly it can do. You are stuck with the spider veins though they can be lasered or something. And stretch marks fade. Though you don't mention them. After my EMCS with DS1 I was really back to normal after 10 weeks. And after my ELCS with DS2 it took about 4 weeks. The only thing that has stayed changed is my breast size, up a cup size for each pregnancy, but no saggier. I didn't breast feed at all though, so not sure if that makes a difference.

Hi, I was the same size and weight as you before my second baby- was back the same size and shape in 12 weeks using myfitnesspal and breastfeeding. Don't panic, if you already have a good attitude with regards to the gym I am sure you will have the motivation to get back into shape, but even if you don't want to worry that's fine as you will be so in love with your baby you won't worry!

worsestershiresauce · 14/03/2013 22:33

Try not to worry, it does all come back Smile. I'd assumed I'd be a physical wreck afterwards, but not at all. I look and feel fab, and I have a newborn to snuggle up to. It really doesn't get any better.

Rockchick1984 · 15/03/2013 09:31

I was incredibly body conscious pre pregnancy, then gained a lot when I was having DS (a combination of overeating, and antenatal depression meaning I struggled to exercise or go out regularly). I hated my pregnant body and thought I would be counting the days until I could go back to the gym!

I felt completely differently once I had DS - suddenly it didn't seem as important, I didn't want to leave him so I could exercise, I was so tired (he hardly slept!) that I ate what I wanted rather than trying to cut down. Despite this I eventually got back to pre pregnancy weight without really trying but it just didn't bother me in the way I thought it would.

I know not everyone feels like that but just wanted to say that it's normal if you find it's not as important after having the baby as you thought it would be :)

Or you may end up looking even more fab post-baby. A friend, who'd had that situation of slowly gaining weight throughout her late 20s and early 30s finally took it hand when her 2nd child was about 6 months and slowly lost an astonishing amount of weight (weight watchers + pilates) over the next 9 months and now looks utterly amazing. I've known her for 20 years and she's never looked this good! And you'll be in a much better position post-birth cos you were fit and heathy before pg. You will regain a lovey body, but be kind on yourself in the meantime!

beckie90 · 15/03/2013 10:03

Honestly it does go back :) im currently preg with my 3rd boy, with ds1 I gained 4st was a 6-8 before, my bottom got stretchmsrks my nipples went dark, I was dimply and wobbly, when I had him, I was back to normal within 4wk didn't breastfeed or diet it just came off, my nipples faded back to normal the stretchmarks on my bottom faded to almost nothing. Ds2 was quite kind to ny body got no stretchmarks that time, nipples did go dark again though, I had him and within 4 days was back to normal, I breastfed him, so believed that must have helped. I'm currently feel abit blah with this pregnancy though feel all swollen everywere and my nipples are soooo dark but just trying to stay posative, it doesn't seem important though when babys here honest :) xx
