Anyone had any problems with the new clear blue digital tests?

I had a positive test on Monday with a clear blue saying 1-2 weeks.
Since then I've had a negative one and a negative at the doctors!
I am now terrified that it was a false positive but have to wait until 6 weeks for a scan. I am having this because of previous miscarriages.
Therefore I wanted to know if anyone else had used the same tests and had problems. I guess I'm just looking for reassurance as I've been told that the doctors one is likely to be wrong as theirs aren't as sensitive. X

It could be that you're quite early on in your pregnancy and that you are right on the border of having high enough HCG levels to be read by a test. Whilst tests have a minimum sensitivity level some tests within the same brand/pack may be more sensitive than others. I would test again in a few days when your HCG levels should have got higher if you're pregnant. Fingers crossed for you

I have just looked it up and normal
HCG levels at 3 weeks are between
5 and 50, meaning at the lower end of that scale most tests would not register and that is in a pregnancy further along than yours

Yes, the new digitals are super sensitive so it could just be that. Could you have a blood test that would tell you quickly what was happening?

Have you tried at home with another brand of test? Superdrug ones are sensitive but cheaper than most.

Did you consider time of day? Maybe if you tested with urine in the morning at home and the doctor tested with less concentrated urine that's the reason the first was positive and the second negative.

I'd test again personally. This comes from the woman who did 11 tests with a variety of brands Wink

faith I was leaving it to somebody else to suggest that Wink if it helps I got BFP on Internet cheapie strips (which say 10miu sensitivity) while a first response was neg (unless held up to the light and squinted at through one eye!)

Hello merkin!

Yes, I couldn't possibly trust just one test. I am proud to say I did restrain myself - I still have one hiding in the back of my cupboard that I just wouldn't use! :)

faith 6 today (and one dipped in water to compare)!

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/03/2013 22:11

Quietly faith, i'm only 8dpo and didn't want to announce anything insensitive when poor ladies are going through hell Sad
