Do I go the Dr's?

I'm convinced I don't need to go the Dr's but DP is convinced I do.

I'm 5+5 & have been getting the worst abdominal pains which I've put down to trapped wind. It's been a week now & is just getting worse. I'm regularly being woken at 3am in massive pain & it hits me throughout the day too.

Not much has relieved it though the pain seemed to fade quicker after taking some Rennies today.

So I guess my point is its not constant pain it does go - which I don't think it would if it was anything more sinister. There's no pain if I press my abdomen, it's not particularly localised.

I don't want to waste the Dr's time & don't think it's necessary - any opinions appreciated!

Yes of course you should. Early pg plus abdo pain is reason for a scan to rule out ectopic. Please go soon. Yes, it may just be wind but you can't be too careful. If it gets worse, go to a&e.

I had these up until 9 weeks- it's everything stretching and getting ready. However, if it is going to put your mind at rest then go see Dr. Smile

I had these until a good 10 weeks or so. I even went to A&E twice. It was digestion related.

I'm not a big worrier but DP is, I think it's mostly the stretchy aches but sometimes it's so bad I'm doubled over crying in agony, which made me think its some sort of extreme pregnancy wind.

Better safe than sorry though I guess, ta for your thoughts Smile though I'm not liking the sound if this 9-10 weeks malarkey!! I'm guessing there's nothing the Dr can do.

Better to see the doctor and there not be anything they can do than not go and find it gets more serious. Please get checked out, even if just to put your partner's mind at ease!

I found a regular probiotic helps with my digestive ails - worth a try.

I would get it checked out for sure to be on the safe side. But try not to worry, - I had this at 6 weeks too - it is very unsettling though. I was told it was my uterus expanding. I went to A&E (in germany) and they did a transvaginal scan to check all was ok. I also had some mild bleeding, which made me worry. I was told that this was old blood coming out due to the colour and consistency - sorry if TMI but thought it might help you - I was told to take magnesium to help which actually worked - if you take iron tablet, so not take together though, as magnesium impairs iron absorption when taken together I was told. I was told to take warm bath (not scalding), warm hot water bottles (again not boiling - just top up with some cold water) etc. But definitely have it checked to put your mind at rest and make sure you are ok.

I went the docs and he's booked me in for an early scan Confused not sure what to expect, they told me to make sure I have an empty bladder so does that mean it'll be up the foof? Also does that mean don't drink all morning or just go the loo before I leave?

Yes will be up the foof if you need an empty bladder. You can still drink in the morning just have a pee before you go in.

Hope everything goes okay for you and they don't find anything wrong.

The scan won't hurt, I've had internal scans and they are fine.

Best crack out the ol' razor then Grin DP will be happy!

I'm still convinced its wind. What can you even see at 6 weeks/do they let you see it? Is it one where they offer you pics (all being well of course)?

I don't think they can give you pictures they do it that way because its harder to see via the abdomen because its so small.

Saundy · 15/03/2013 13:04

Corpus luteum cyst aside its all good, I'm glad I went - even got a pic too in the end!
