Booking appointment at 12 weeks for second pregnancy?

Is this normal for a 2nd pregnancy? I'm sure previously I had a booking appointment at 9weeks or so.
The guy on the phone also told me they would then give me my scan appointment after the booking appointment, so after 12 weeks.Isn't that a bit late?

I had my booking appt for 1st pregnancy at 15 weeks (although had dating scan at 12). Think it depends on when they can fit you in, not ideal

Hi I've got my dating scan next week (12 weeks) but not even got an appt for my booking appt yet! I rang my hospital yesterday to check I can still have my scan without notes and they said no problem.
It's my 2nd too, so think they must be more relaxed

I'm not too bothered about the booking appointment actually. Its the scan i'm more worried about. If they give me the date at the booking appointment it would presumably be at 13 or 14 weeks, just seems very late.

I had my booking in appt at 13 weeks with this one (DC3) and the midwife phoned up the scanning unit on the day to get me an scan date for the following week. Although my late booking in appt was due to my GP forgetting to send my referral twice.

I think there is a cut off date of 13 weeks 6 days for the first scan (someone on here said, not sure if it's true) so they will probably rush your scan date through.

I wouldn't be concerned if your generally well with no health problems.

Its the scan that is important. I wouldn't be very happy about having the scan late.

I called them earlier and they found me a booking appointment when I will be 10 weeks. More time to get the scan sorted afterwards.

My booking apt is scheduled for when I'm 12 wks minus 1 day. I'm hoping to get my dating scan pretty quickly after that as its my first and am going out my mind! But I posted about it on here and a lot of people said it is ok as long as scan before 14 weeks. So I wouldn't worry too much, think it just depends how busy they are!
