How do you treat a bad headcold in pregnancy?

That's it really.
Got blocked sinuses, green gunk, don't want it heading for my chest if I can help it.

Can I take extra vit c and zinc on top of my pregnancy multivit?

Keeping paracetamol for moments of very sore sinuses/headache but don't want to take too many as I think they lose their effectiveness if you do.

Rest and fluids obviously..... anything else I can do?

Have you tried a steam inhalation to clear your sinuses? It's not terribly pleasant, but really works for me.

I second the steam - stick your head over a bowl with a drop or two of olbas oil - seemed to be the best thing for me.
I find hot/warm drinks are helpful for clearing up that bunged up feeling. Hot ribena, half a squeezed lemon with a good glug of honey topped up with hot water were my life saviours. For some reason - probably the milk - my usual 'poorly' drink of hot chocolate wasn't so good at making my sinuses feel clearer.

I found taking to my bed and moping was the best way of dealing with most of my pregnancy.

to clear your nose

alternate pressing your forehead between your eyebrows and pressing your tongue hard on the roof of your mouth. Do it for about a minute. It will clear your sinuses.

Worked brilliantly for me when I had a bad cold recently. Read about it on here, unsurprisingly Grin I have been telling everyone I meet who has a cold and meeting some very strange looks
