Normally in between a 10 and a 12 so I ordered both from asos and had them delivered to me overseas.

I'm only 11 weeks... The 10 fit beautifully NOW! Bump band a little loose perhaps but otherwise... I'm wearing them now! First baby and already a big bloats bump!

Surely they therefore won't do the next 6 months? Should I keep the 12 for later on? I won't be able to return them after 30 days...!

I found I couldn't fit in normal jeans from about 13 weeks (except for a pair that were really baggy). Under bump were very comfy from then on til about 22 weeks when I graduated to over bump ones. The under bump are ok but over bump become more comfy as time goes on.

Oh btw I've stayed in the same size (14) for me. You may find the 12s are too big elsewhere and slide down!

These are over bump ones and lovely! My normal jeans are working quite well as under bump for now but I do feel exposed in them. I hope I stay the same size but am eating so much I don't expect to!

I was thinking about keeping the 12s and cutting them into shorts for summer as I live in Spain ns due in September/October, but don't want them falling down!!! And I couldn't wear them at work then. And they were £22, which I suppose isn't too bad....

Depends on where you gain your weight, which isn't very predictable. I have been wearing the same pair of Asda skinny over the bump jeans since 12 weeks in my regular size 12. Started with the band pretty loose, grew into them and am now at the point at 37 weeks that the band can no longer cope and rolls down all the time. Still sticking with them though as 14 would be too big on legs and bum.

CityDweller · 12/03/2013 13:15

I agree it depend if and how you put on weight elsewhere, but you can have a stab at predicting. I too was a 10/12 pre-pg and size 10 mat clothes fit fine until 30ish weeks, since when I've needed a 12. While I often get complimented on having a 'neat bump' I have put weight in my hips, thighs and bum - areas I have a propensity to gain weight on in general.

CityDweller · 12/03/2013 13:17

Although, I shd add (just to confuse things!) I can still fit in my size 10 Asos under-bump mat jeans. They're just sodding annoying (fall down ALL the time), so I hardly wear them. My fave things at the mo are a pair of over-bump skinny jeans. Comfy, stay up and don't look too horrendously slobby. (I'm 37 wks)

I'm normally a 12, and I bought my maternity over bump jeans from Next in Autumn 2010 (last pregnancy). I tried on the 12 first and they seemed fine, and then I tried on the size 10, and they just fitted better at that stage, so I ended up buying both.

Was glad I did so, because as I got bigger, my thighs got a bit bigger, so the size 12 pair became more comfortable towards the middle and end of pregnancy - I could still fit the 10 pair, but bending was a bit more uncomfortable!

I then went back to the size 10 after the birth, until my waistband reappeared! Also, it meant I had a spare pair for washing days, as I pretty much lived in those jeans for months, as they were so comfy!

SneezySnatcher · 12/03/2013 15:18

I'm normally a 10 and I am still in size 10 maternity trousers at almost 37 weeks. In fact, I'm able to wear pre-preg jeans under my bump. Tops, however, are a different story as my bump is pretty big.

It all depends on where you gain weight, which can't be predicted really. If I were you, I'd keep them just in case.

Msbluesky32 · 12/03/2013 16:10

Are they Demi ones or full bump band ones?

I'm usually between a size 10 and 12 too but I ended up getting size 8 Demi ones from gap. These are the jeans with the small elasticated band. I wore them all the way to 32 weeks but by then the band started to get uncomfortable. The fit everywhere else was fine. You might find later on you need different sizes and styles as your bump expands. I'm 36 weeks now and really only comfortable in leggings. I would send the 12s back and see how you go later on.

Msbluesky32 · 12/03/2013 16:14

Sorry, just seen your post further down! In which case you could keep the 12s and always sell them on if you don't use them!

Umlauf · 12/03/2013 19:57

Thanks for all your help, I've decided to keep both! I can always cut them into shorts if they stay too big (I like shorts looser) and they are nice enough to wear after if I cut the maternity band off!

It's weird wearing them today although 11 weeks I don't feel frumpy for a change, feel rather smart!

citysweller you sound like you have the same shape as me, if its going anywhere its going thigh/hip wards. Although I also suffer huge boobness. Which is NOT a joy when pregnant!

HAVING SAID ALL THIS the first person asked me today outright if I was pregnant. It's a secret. I don't know if it was the jeans!! She said it was my face... She was a stranger. What if I just had a fat face?!
