Hi pregnant with DC2 and I am getting pain in my hips and especially my inner thighs/ lower pelvis. Didn't have anything like this with DC1. some days walking hurts and other days much better. also making sleeping painful as can't get comfy. Is this normal in second pregnancy?

Sounds like pelvic girdle pain (PGP). I have had this with all pregnancies, earlier each time. A certain amount is normal I think, but if it becomes difficult to manage you should discuss with your midwife or doctor. It can get worse as you get bigger, and you might need a support belt to help the pain when walking. I had physio with my second pregnancy which was very helpful. Listen to your body and don't overdo it... rest is the best thing.

I am in second pregnancy and experiencing similar. I've got midwife appointment tommorow so will ask her and report back if you don't get any suitable answers :)

Oops never mind, someone beat me. Yeah I get the pain in hips and thighs at the moment, when its on my inner thigh it makes me limp a little bit. Does that sound the same as PGP,Peanut?

I'm 21+2 weeks and have been getting that for the last few weeks (but like an idiot I got distracted by other questions at my midwife appt last week and forgot to mention it!!)

It doesn't so much hurt as ache. I will be talking to her when I see her at 26 weeks, unless it gets worse.

This is just another reason for DC3 to be my last one!!

Dinglebert, yep that sounds the same. The inner thigh pain is the worst, it makes me all bowlegged! I find it's worst when I've been sitting for a while, then I stand up and try to walk and everything is SO stiff.

There are things you can do to prevent it from getting worse, such as getting out of your bed or car with legs together, sitting down to put on pants/socks (rather than standing on one leg), but overall I think it's just another one of those pregnancy things we have to put up with...

Thanks good to know, and seems almost identical symptoms. I limp too when it is bad. My bump seems huge this time and lots of pressure down there which i didn't get till 36/37 weeks last time. Maybe my muscles and ligaments not quite what they used to be!
