Since 3pm today Iv had diohrrea (had about 7 loose bowl movements so far) and I don't know why, I can't think if anything that Iv eaten as only had a sandwich and a bag of crisps for my lunch and my husband had the same an he is fine. Iv had some toast for my tea as I didn't want anything heavy as I'm worried it could carry on through the night. Is there anything I can take? Eg immodiun? I'm 23 weeks.

No you can't take Imodium. Best not to try to stop it in any way, it's your body getting rid of a problem. Because your immunity is low you can get food poisoning or viral gastro bugs that your DH doesn't.

I'm afraid you'll just have to wait for it to stop, which is pretty horrible, I know. Keep up your fluids and rest when you can. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi, I hope you are felling better?

Do not take imodium, you need to let your body get rid of what ever is causing the runs.

I would suggest drinking a full sugar squash, not plain water. Water goes straight through you, where as if you add squash your body absorbs it and prevents dehydration. This was the advise we got when DH was extremely I'll with a bug. x

Or get rehydration sachets from a chemist, they give you the right balance of sugar/salt to retain fluid. (Cheap and fine to use while pregnant). Hope you're feeling better now

I had similar at 25 weeks and took Imodium :-/ didn't know you couldn't! it stopped it and I now have a perfectly healthy 5 week old ds...so it didn't do any harm.
