12 weeks pregnant, what is this brown mucous? (TMI, sorry!)

I've had thrush since a course of antibiotics 3 weeks ago, I'm one of those people who get thrush regularly despite my best efforts, but tonight the usually white discharge was brownish/redish. It gave me a real fright at first, I thought it was spotting? I've had a bit of a crampy tummy today too, which I've not had since the first few weeks of pregnancy.

Does anyone know what this is?.It's impossible to get an appointment at my docs on a Monday, should I ring the midwives?

Thanks

Because its brown likely to be old blood although cramping pain bit more concerning. However if you're ever worried or unsure call, it's what they are there for. Hope you're ok.

Could it have been from a pessary? I used a pessary for thrush at about 9 weeks which caused slight bleeding. I would ring the midwife if you are concerned.

Yep, ring your MW, cramping and spotting (even if brown not bright red) should be checked out.

Thanks for your advice, I went to the doc this morning (miraculously managed to get an appointment!) and she checked me all out and said there was no infection and I seem fine so probably some old blood, as I have none today.

She also gave me pessaries for the thrush so hopefully that should clear the thrush too.

Do you think I should still contact the midwife? I didn't get that post till I got home Confused
