Allergic reaction to something? Help!

I think I may have an allergic reaction to something I ate today (I think raspberries because I haven't had them for ages, though I never noticed anything weird happening after eating them before). I have a few patches on my face that look slightly swollen (like after a mosquito bite) and are really itchy. Same with my neck and neckline... Is it likely to be some sort of an allergic reaction? Any over the counter stuff I can use to calm this down? Help!

You should call your GP/midwife for advice. The advice for anti-histamines is here

thanks, called the hospital and spoke to a midwife (who told me off for not carrying notes with me!) and she recommended Piriton. Just took some and it helped a bit... what a relief!
I'm convinced it's the raspberries that caused this nightmare!

marushka82, pleased to hear you are feeling a bit better :) At least you know what caused it, so you can stay away from it.

It flared up again this morning and moved to my face :( Basically I have big red splotches on it; went to the hospital, they checked my bp, listened to the baby, checked my urine and everything is fine.Told me to use piriton and wait a few days. Grrr, it's so annoying!

Ugh, I've still got it! It' not as itchy as before, but my face still gets splotchy.
My GP told me today I shouldn't take piriton for more than few days and since I've been taking it since Friday afternoon she told me it's best to stop it, so I did. It seems to be subsiding, but I'm now paranoid about using any cosmetics or eating anything weird.
I remembered I had a dish with fennel seeds in it on Thursday evening and then leftovers for Friday lunch and read somewhere that fennel can cause a rash in some people and I'm tempted to blame it for the whole thing!
Has anyone here had a weird rash/food allergy while pregnant? What did you do and most importantly - did it go away? HELP!

I get new allergies in each pregnancy. They do go but slower than not pregnancy ones IYSWIM.

I became allergic to pineapple in pregnancy....nearly 10 years ago and I still can't eat it Sad

I'm honestly at a loss about what this is. Yesterday it all seemed to be a bit better than at night I woke up with itchy neck, chest and scalp (I seriously thought I'd scratch it off!) and had to take piriton to be able to go back to sleep.
I want it to go awaaaay! :(

There may be nothing causing it. A few years ago - not while pregnant I stress - I developed 'chronic idiopathic urticaria', which essentially means that I got itchy hives/patches that roamed around my body, popping up and down at will and which had no cause whatsoever. Something probably triggered an initial reaction but after that it's self-triggering. It goes away by itself after a period of time that varies wildly from person to person.

Regardless of whether there's a cause or not here's my tips for coping with itching in the meantime - cold water on the itchy area allowed to dry naturally. Nothing worked as well as a bit of cotton wool soaked in cold water. Also sudocrem! Make sure your skin isn't dehydrated either and don't let yourself get too hot as it aggravates any itching and makes it worse

Lorelei thanks! Come to think of it I had something similar before pregnancy. Just a random itchy bit popping out of nowhere...
My face is back to normal and I'm not itchy anymore, touch wood this bloody thing is gone!
