Hi,
I was planning to get a GBS swab done tonorrow (bang on 35 weeks as result affects my birthing location choice).
But suddenly panicked: I had thrush diagnosed last week, had one pessary and on once a day evening application of Anti fungal cream (clotrimazole 1%).

No one can tell me if the cream will affect the swab. NHS Direct has four hour wait for call back.

Anyone here know- I could skip applying it tonight if so?

Thanks in advance!

Okay, got to speak to a GP finally who advised no interaction between anti fungal cream and GBS. But risk of cream blocking the swab picking up the bacteria. So suggested not applying for the night before the swab.
£57 swab on Wimpole street. Place recommended by www.gbss.org.uk. Super disorganised place but hopefully will get a result fairly quickly.
