Bleeding, cramps and terrified, please help

I am 7+3 with dc 2. Last night I had an hour of heavy bleeding and mild period like cramps. This morning the bleeding has stopped but the cramps are agonising. Nothing is easing it at all.
I haven't had an appointment with the midwife yet so have no notes.
Is it worth getting checked out? Dp is at work so I'm on my own with dd and struggling tbh

I would get it checked. You can go to an early pregnancy unit, or to A&E - you don't need notes.

Is there someone that you can leave DD with?

FWIW When I was pg with DS1 I did have heavy bleeding and cramps for the first 3 months, so much so i didn't know I was pg.

Thankyou both for the quick replies. I'm not sure about an early pregnancy unit, I only ever went to the maternity assessment unit with dd. There is no one at all to leave dd with, lord knows how I'll distract her. we haven't told her yet, wanted to wait until after the 12 week scan.
I will give them a ring and see what they say.

Take her with you. I took DS to A&E when I had a similar situation - I packed snacks, books, drinks and gave him my wallet/phone to play with (take a phone charger too). It wasn't too awful having him there as he was quite distracted by everything that was going on.

I'm glad you're going to call - you really need to see someone as soon as possible.

I'd get your DP to come home tbh, you might need to wait at the EPU for a while. When this happened to me they wanted to check me for an ectopic.

The maternity assessment unit won't see me as I don't have any notes. She just said to go straight to a+e.

I hope you managed to get DD sorted, and that you are being well taken care of.

I was 5 weeks and on my way to work when I got off the train, started walking and thought I'd wet myself, unfortunately I'd started bleeding heavily, I had no warning whatsoever, no pain, no cramps nothing. I called my doctor and they advised me to go to A&E, A&E sent me to the hospital EPU for a scan and an examination. Definitely go to A&E, you might be having a threatened miscarriage, they will be able to tell you what's going on i.e. whether there's a heartbeat, whether your cervix is open and I agree with the other ladies ask your partner to go with you for support. X

I have just got back from a+e, been there all day! I have an appointment tomorrow at the early pregnancy unit for a scan. it's going to be a long night of worrying

Thankfully baby is absolutely fine We are so relieved.
Unfortunately had to have an internal scan which brings a whole load of issues to light for me so now I'm sitting in tears when I should be happy. So bloody stupid!
